TOYS"R"US, INC. AND THE TOYS"R"US CHILDREN'S FUND

The core mission of Toys"R"Us, Inc. and the Toys"R"Us Children's Fund is to keep children safe and help them in times of need. Since it was founded in 1992, the Toys"R"Us Children's Fund has contributed millions of dollars to organizations that support that mission, including those providing disaster relief to children and families who are victims of large-scale crises. The Toys"R"Us Children's Fund also provides grants to leading organizations that assist children with special needs.

Signature Partnerships

Safe Kids Worldwide

In 2008, Toys"R"Us, Inc. launched a national safety awareness partnership with Safe Kids Worldwide, the first organization dedicated solely to preventing unintentional childhood injury and the only one to have a global reach, with partners in 16 countries. More children ages 1 to 14 die from accidents than any other cause, and almost all of these injuries are preventable. As a company devoted to all kids, Toys"R"Us Inc., shares in the mission of Safe Kids Worldwide to protect children and keep them safe from harm. The two organizations work together throughout the year to provide actionable safety tips to parents and caregivers on a variety of subjects, such as summer safety, Halloween safety, and keeping baby safe.

Marine Toys for Tots Foundation

Toys"R"Us, Inc. is the largest retail partner and the largest corporate cash contributor in the 60-year history of Toys for Tots. Toys"R"Us, Inc. and the Toys"R"Us Children's Fund began their partnership with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in 2004 and have since raised over $13.5 million and collected more than 1.2 million toys. During the holiday season, Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us stores serve as giving headquarters by collecting toy and cash donations in all locations nationwide.

Autism Speaks

Toys"R"Us, Inc. and the Toys"R"Us Children's Fund are united in their commitment to provide a voice for the one in 150 children affected by autism and, since 2007, have together donated more than $600,000 to Autism Speaks to help fund autism research and advocacy. Toys"R"Us is the national sponsor of the Autism Speaks Walk Now for Autism program, a series of fundraising walk events in communities across the country. "R"Us associates nationwide are fully engaged in the cause and, walking alongside their family and friends, helping to raise additional funds for Autism Speaks. Additionally, in conjunction with Autism Awareness Month in April, Toys"R"Us conducts in-store fundraising in all of its locations nationwide. The 2008 program raised more than $1.5 million.

Save the Children

When there is a large-scale crisis, Toys"R"Us, Inc. and the Toys"R"Us Children's Fund partner with Save the Children, a global humanitarian organization that works to improve the lives of children around the world. Save the Children works with established domestic relief groups to help protect children, ensure their safety in shelters and at community recovery sites and support their emotional recovery. The Toys"R"Us Children's Fund has donated more than $1.3 million to Save the Children.

Kids in Distressed Situations

Kids in Distressed Situations (K.I.D.S.) is a global charity that distributes new, donated children's merchandise to more than 1,000 non-profit agencies that help children in poverty-stricken communities, homeless shelters, foster-care facilities, hospitals, AIDS clinics and relief organizations. Since 1993, the "R"Us family has given K.I.D.S. significant product donations annually and nearly $600,000 in financial support to assist hundreds of local charitable agencies across the country. In addition to ongoing corporate product and financial donations, in 2007 Toys"R"Us launched a store-level program that has to date generated nearly $4 million in product donations for local charities.

Children Affected by AIDS Foundation

Children Affected by AIDS Foundation (CAAF) is the only organization solely devoted to providing social, educational, recreational and other critical support programs to vulnerable children impacted by HIV/AIDS in the U.S. and other countries. The Toys"R"Us Children's Fund has been an active supporter of CAAF's signature fundraising program, Dream Halloween, since 1994. The Toys"R"Us Children's Fund helped found the inaugural event in Los Angeles and has since extended its support to events in New York and Chicago. Since the partnership began, the Toys"R"Us Children's Fund has awarded CAAF grants totaling more than $1.8 million.

Support for Differently-Abled Kids

Thousands of parents, relatives, friends and caregivers have used the Toys"R"Us Toy Guide for Differently-Abled Kids to find everyday toys that help spark imagination and build critical skills for the special needs child in their life. The Guide is developed with the National Lekotek Center, an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to making the world accessible to children of all ages and abilities. The Toys"R"Us Children's Fund has supported the National Lekotek Center through grants totaling more than $330,000. To further demonstrate support for the special needs community, the Toys"R"Us Children's Fund has made donations to such leading organizations as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the National Down Syndrome Society and Special Olympics, among others.

The Toys "R" Us Children's Fund-Starlight Site Playroom Program

The Toys"R"Us Children's Fund began a partnership with the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation in 2002 by providing the organization with a $7 million, multi-year grant – the largest in the Foundation's history – to build more than 70 playrooms across the country. These playrooms provide pediatric patients with a reprieve from treatment by creating engaging spaces in hospitals and medical settings where pediatric patients can relax and play. They also represent a growing trend, as hospitals increasingly consider a patient's environment to be an important factor in the healing process.
